Cost & Coverage FAQs

You can typically expect to pay around $6-10 a day for CBD or THC oils in New Zealand. Obviously this depends hugely on how much you take and how often.

In the US, the average price of ‘high quality’ cannabis is NZD 505 for 28 grams (1 oz) (check source here).

In New Zealand, products with around 15-20% THC are comparable in price to this and some dried products are even cheaper. High THC products
(~25% THC) however, are more expensive.

Unfortunately NZ doesn’t have anywhere near the market that the US has so you can probably expect prices to be higher here in comparison.

Possibly, as long as you satisfy WINZ criteria. WINZ may require evidence that a medicinal cannabis product has been effective for you before they will consider funding it.  Clinical assessment by one of Green Doctors’ health professionals will be required to assess whether you have responded well to a medicinal cannabis product, and to ensure there were no adverse effects or reactions to it.
