Sapna’s GP career started in 1992. At one stage, she took time out to pursue her other passion in film and writing. Having obtained a Master’s degree in film, television and media studies from the University of Auckland in 2004, I have worked in the media and creative sector ever since. Her interest in storytelling has enriched her experience as a doctor, which has in turn influenced how she sees disease and wellness, in the context of the richness and the wholeness of people’s lives with their whānau and communities. Sapna has joined Green doctors as she is interested in the application of medicinal cannabis in patient-centric health care.

Dr Olivia Mackay

Dr Olivia Mackay

Olivia was born in Auckland and grew up on a flower orchard near Muriwai Beach. After completing a Bachelor of Science majoring in Physiology, she entered Medical School at the University of Auckland and graduated in December 2021. Through her time in medical school and first few years as a doctor, she developed an interest in anaesthesia and pain management. This interest along with witnessing the life-changing effects of medicinal cannabis on a family member, lead her to pursue training in the field of medicinal cannabis so she could provide relief to the wider community. Olivia takes pride in being able to empathise with her patients, and therefore create a tailored treatment plan based on their needs. When she is not at work, she can be found surfing at Muriwai, creating wonky pottery, or taking her puppy Casper for a hike.
